Our Covid fight and business expansion.

3D printing, or additive manufacturing, is the construction of a three-dimensional object from a CAD model or a digital 3D model. The term "3D printing" can refer to a variety of processes in which material is deposited, joined or solidified under computer control to create a three-dimensional object, with material being added together, typically layer by layer.

As with most businesses the last 12 months have been challenging, however March began with some great new for business in the latest Budget 2021, the HM Treasury announced further support for Businesses and also changes to capital investments with hopes of supporting Business as a recovery measure from the pandemic.

Our team at MP3D are proud that we’ve been able to support other businesses and NHS staff with simple but effective 3D PPE prints.

Many of us have seen images of healthcare workers who’ve taken their masks off after a 12-hour shift. Their faces are covered in red lines and wrinkled skin from the pressure created by the elastic bands required to secure a respirator or surgical mask to their face. What you don’t see in those images is the irritation behind their ears from the strapping on the masks. Many users of masks also report headaches, chafing, and even blisters during prolonged use. In response, we’ve manufactured 3D printed tension relief bands for masks that help to alleviate many of these problems.

In our commitment to find ways to help fight COVID-19, we were also able to provide face shields. Face shields are one of the most helpful 3D prints for healthcare workers.

They’re ideal because they directly impact workers on the front line and are simple to print and assemble.

We’ve been honoured to help our Key Worker hero’s. 3D printing plays a key role in providing rapid solutions and often fills the gaps left by other technologies. We are proud to work in an industry that is making a difference in the fight, and we know the world will get through this together. During this time of crisis, our team continues to be available to help you print quickly and efficiently

Are you helping in the fight against COVID-19 using 3D printing technology? If you have participated in 3D printing efforts to support health care workers or know of new ways additive manufacturing is being used to combat COVID-19, please share your story with us.
